TODAY THE SOUND OF LAUGHTERToday I heard the sound of laughter
Coming from the rooms of my house,
Echoing down the hall.
Shrieks of little girls, shouts from a boy.
A busy house full of slamming doors,
Conversations,
Cups of coffee, dishes of apple pie and ice cream.
Thank you for this day when
I got to visit with family
If even for just a little while.
Family is a blessing
And love is the ultimate reward.
